For Kenisha, life is hectic at times because she works a full-time job while also being a single mother to three children. It’s challenging because everything falls back on her to “make ends meet”. Kenisha knew that one day she’d become a homeowner. She just needed to improve her credit score and increase her financial stability beforehand. She worked with Iowa Heartland to become qualified for our Homeownership Program and after being accepted in August of 2020, her outlook has improved! “My kids are so happy we’re about to have our own home”, she said. When asked what Kenisha would tell someone in a similar situation to hers, she said, “You can do anything you put your mind to… Never give up, no matter how hard it may seem… There’s always hope!”
