Grace Gardens, located at the corner of East 3rd and Walnut Street in the Walnut Neighborhood, offers solitude, nourishment, and beauty to everyone who passes by.

Judy and George Marshall, who serve as pastors as the nearby Harvest Vineyard Church, were able to acquire this property on the corner shortly after purchasing and renovating their lovely home next door. They have worked over the past years, adding new garden plots as they were able. They also installed a walking path as a helpful shortcut through the lawn. A beautiful bench offers rest and solace for pedestrians and residents alike.

Having a love for design and skill for growing nourishing food, Judy blesses others through her gifts of stewarding the garden. Residents desiring to share in the bountiful produce need only knock on her door and ask if any vegetables will be available soon!

This summer, Judy and George are enjoying a variety of garden produce and flowers. So far, the beans have been producing well! They are waiting for the tomato plants to fill in and ripen. Judy notes, “I share what I can, when I can. Tomatoes, onions, and potatoes, however, are the vegetables I am not able to share because I do a lot of canning and store-up for the winter months. Other than those 3, it’s been fun to bless my neighbors!” Currently cucumbers are in abundance, so the Marshall’s are preparing to share their harvest. Judy has been particularly thrilled with her new dwarf sunflowers, pictured above.
